Fishing in the Albemarle Sound and It's Tributaries

I started fishing the waters of the Albemarle Sound as a young boy. My grandfather was a commercial fisherman on the Pasquotank River and the Albemarle Sound. My dad was also an avid angler. Together we fished the Albemarle Sound, Currituck Sound and Pasquotank River areas of Northeastern, NC every weekend chasing stripers, white perch, flounder and croaker. Growing up on these waters with my family and friends is what led me to wanting to share the experience with others.

In my teens I bought my own boat and fished the Albemarle Sound and tributaries for all the different fish, fresh and saltwater, native to the area. I found the love of guiding other people fishing by working as a mate on an offshore fishing vessel on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. When I got my captain license I decided to start my own charter business in the home waters and guide fishing trips on the Albemarle Sound and its tributaries, the Pasquotank, Chowan, Little and Perquimans Rivers.

The Boat

My current boat is a deep V Polar Craft which I find exceptional for fishing these waters because it is maneuverable in shallow waters around pilings and structures where fish like to hide, but is capable of fishing the open waters in the sound.

I am a licensed captain and my boat is fully equipped with all the bait, rods, tackle and life preservers that you will need. You only need to bring refreshments and a desire to catch fish!
